STRETCH WORKSHOP - Saturday 25th January
Saturday 25th January 10.00-16.30 - THE OLD POST OFFICE, 1533 PERSHORE ROAD, STIRCHLEY, B30 2JH
This is a one day workshop learning how to use stretch fabrics and applying these skills to make a sweatshirt.
You may have completed an Absolute Beginners class and want to make your first garment, or have made multiple garments before but never tackled stretch fabrics.
In this two evening course, you will learn:
How to prepare your stretch fabric
Stretch fabric qualities - grain/stretch %’s
How to cut a pattern out in stretch fabric
How to sew stretch fabric using a domestic machine/different needle options
Inserting a stretch neckline
Stretch sleeve cuffs
You can choose between the following patterns (you will receive a physical copy of the pattern):
Sally sweater - raglan sleeves with a balloon style, no hem band giving an oversized look
Hanna Sweater - traditional sweatshirt shape, ribbed hem band, dropped shoulders
Tarifa Tee - relaxed boxy t-shirt
All patterns are constructed in the same way, but slightly vary in details:

You will receive an email explaining what type of fabric you will need to purchase (and pre wash!) and how much. The session includes use of the sewing machine, all equipment you need (pins, stretch needles etc) and cups of tea/coffee and biscuits.
